I remember feeling guilty when just about every Tidbit Tuesday from September ’09 through June ’10 was laden with dress colors and flower choices and napkin materials only.. When it came down to it, that ten-month span of my life was wedding planning. And so, I wrote about it. Well now, Internet, I have a puppy. His name is Sullivan. Sully for short.. And he’s a furry ball of energy, pee, and barks. And so, I write about it… ;)
So far, Sully sleeps like a baby. Literally. He operates on spurts of energy that last about an hour, and quickly fade away into two-hour naps. For the first time, I feel as though I have a glimpse into the life of a new mother, as my productivity is significantly reduced when he is awake, and amazing when he is asleep. Except of course, for the breaks I take to watch him curled up and snoring in his crate. I could eat this pup, he’s so cute!
And one more thing! Sully has a new trick. We’ve blocked off the area of the living room with our couches and rug so he’ll eventually learn to stay on the wood floors. But this morning, after finding “evidence” of Sully on our white rug, I realized he’d found a way to shimmy himself under the couch and out the other side. If he’s not obedient yet, he’s definitely smart.. But enough about Sully for now. :) A full post on our new little friend to come on Sunday!
This past weekend was extremely pivotal for the newfound Southerner in me. As in, I finally experienced what “grits” taste like. Shrimp and cheese grits, to be precise. Props to our bride and groom from this past weekend for knowing how to feed some vendors! ;)
Every so often, either Dylan or I will decide it’s the other person’s “day.” It’s a random decision made out of love to celebrate each other for silly reasons and no reasons at all. (Sometimes we both volunteer that it’s our own day, which never goes over very well.. ;)) The other day, because it was my day, Dylan told me to pick out any chick flick I wanted and he’d watch it with me. I picked The Notebook, and never sobbed so hard in my life. Like, seriously.. I’d only seen it once before, but since had basically forgotten the entire plot. For future reference, what are YOUR favorite chick flick suggestions? You know, for days that are mine..
HGTV, you had me at The Antonio Treatment. I simply cannot get enough of Antonio Ballatore‘s decorating genius and almost-ugly-but-not-ugly-at-all aesthetic. So if you love design and don’t know Antonio, you MUST. Know. Antonio.
Ten years ago, Rebecca St. James wrote the infamous “Wait For Me” song that became the soundtrack of my tween life. You know the one… “I am waiting for. Waiting for you, Darleeene.” (Or darling.. But her Australian accent can sure throw a girl off.) Needless to say the last ten years have left Rebecca‘s fans pleading to God to send her a man already.. Well! I now speak on behalf of millions of women everywhere and congratulate miss Rebecca on her ENGAGEMENT to Jacob Fink as of Christmas day. I’ve never been so happy for a stranger. Even though she did sign my Veggie Tales autograph book back in the day.. :)
Song of the Week: Your Love Never Fails (feat. Chris Quilala) by Jesus Culture. I’ve written and deleted three sentences so far in attempts to explain this incredible song. SO much truth. SO much power. And so, SO much joy. Let it encourage you today by listening *HERE*.
I leave you with a hint of what’s to come later this week. A peek inside Eva and Ryan’s Ousie’s Table wedding. Just LOVE these two!!
Happy Tuesday! :)
Kasey - I have a dog too, and I know I blog about her way too much! Looking forward to reading about your puppy adventures!
April - I love grits!! Chris was laughing at me the other day because I got so excited that they serve them at the Cobleskill Diner, not the same of course but they were good!! Congrats on your Sully, our Frank is just 9 months old and the biggest ball of energy!!
Jess Zieman - Me and my roommate Steph are chick flick experts! When Steph moved in with my and Ryan (after our football-crazed friend, Paul, got a job in NYC) all Ryan could say upon looking at Steph’s movie collection was “That’s a lot of pink.” So far we’ve watched The Notebook, How To Lose a Guy in 10 days and P.S. I Love You! You must must MUST see P.S. I Love You! You will bawl your eyes out… I know I did. All I could think about was if me and Ryan were that couple… ahhhh, I need to stop the tear ducts here! Love youuuuuu! :)
Amber Jacoby - chick flick!? “The proposal” is one of my favorites!
